The Highland Games are traditional Scottish athletic festivals featuring heavy events like caber toss, stone put, hammer throw, and weight throws, alongside music, dancing, and cultural celebrations. Anyone can compete—men, women, youth, masters, and adaptive athletes—regardless of heritage. Most athletes start as novices and progress as skill and experience grow. I encourage anyone interested to grab a kilt and sign up for a local game (approximately $50 entry fee) OR find your local throwing group! WE are worldwide!!

Common events include the caber toss, Braemar stone, open stone, Scottish hammer, weight for distance, and weight for height. Event offerings vary slightly by games and federation. The United States introduced the famous SHEAF toss! Ask the Master's Class about the history of this event! Typically you will compete in 8-9 events for a Championship Game and if weather is boggy, then a minimum number of events must be completed to have the game scored as an official event.
